The American Farm Bureau Federation® is recruiting ambassadors to showcase the energy and excitement of the 2027 Farm Bureau FUSION Conference occurring March 12-15, 2027, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

About the Program:

• A team of five Collegiate Farm Bureau members creates and implements a promotional plan—highlighting the conference experience for various audiences, including the AFBF Young Farmers & Ranchers, Women’s Leadership and Promotion & Engagement social media platforms. 
• Ambassadors play an integral role in inspiring grassroots agricultural communities across the country to engage as members and leaders within Farm Bureau to create a stronger and more sustainable future for agriculture through social media marketing and content creation.

• Real-life application of college course content, including concrete skill development.
• Professional development with AFBF’s social media team prior to the conference.

Desired Qualifications:

• Should be an undergraduate Collegiate Farm Bureau member. 
• Agriculture, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related major preferred.
• Proficient in creating engaging photo and video social media content.
• Adaptable, creative and able to capture an interesting story from a mountain of content and thrive in a fast-paced environment. 
• Collaborative, willing to learn from others and receive constructive feedback. 

Duties include:

• Attend an orientation, training and planning meeting in early January (virtual). 
• Develop and execute a social media plan for conference promotion utilizing (but not limited to) Facebook, Instagram and/or video.
• Organize live Story content for competitions, key events and entertainment.
• Collaborate with other ambassadors, AFBF staff and AFBF committees to curate cohesive media presence.
• Collaborate with the AFBF digital team to create conference carousels, Reels and other promotional content.
• Monitor conference hashtag to compile promotional content.
• Complete a brief review of ambassador experience to help AFBF make improvements.

• January 26: Ambassadors Orientation 
• February 8: Ambassador Alumni Connect Call
• March 11-16: FUSION Conference (including on-site orientation and travel days)

The Farm Bureau MANRRS Fellowship Program is designed to advance opportunities for MANRRS students to develop as young leaders, build industry connections, leverage peer networks and strengthen involvement in Farm Bureau. 

Through this program, up to 15 collegiate MANRRS members will engage in the American Farm Bureau FUSION Conference. FUSION Conference is an immersive professional development experience that will connect MANRRS members with Farm Bureau leaders, young farmers and ranchers and agricultural professionals from across the country. Participants will gain firsthand insight into Farm Bureau's advocacy efforts, grassroots leadership model and member benefits.

Made possible through CoBank's investment in developing future agricultural leaders, the program reflects a shared commitment to expanding opportunities for diverse talent, strengthening connections across the agricultural community and preparing students to lead and serve the industry for years to come.

As part of the program, participants will receive an expense-paid conference registration, airfare, hotel accommodations and a $200 travel stipend. They will participate in exclusive networking and educational experiences before and during the conference, be recognized as members of the 2027 Farm Bureau MANRRS Fellowship Program (throughout the conference and on stage) and receive a one-year Farm Bureau membership through their home county. Farm Bureau MANRRS Fellows will also have the opportunity to enjoy a dinner with CoBank and AFBF staff, along with a representative from the AFBF YF&R Committee.

Eligibility: 

• Active MANRRS collegiate members with involvement and/or interest in production agriculture 
• Between the ages of 18 and 35 as of March 1, 2027
• Minimum GPA of 2.8
• Must be able to participate fully in the events listed under the timeline
• Current and former members of the American Farm Bureau Federation committees and staff of Farm Bureau and/or affiliated companies are not eligible to apply
• Previous Farm Bureau MANRRS Fellows are not eligible to reapply

FUSION Conference Information: 

American Farm Bureau’s 2027 FUSION Conference will bring together 1,100 members from across the country who are active in three main Farm Bureau program areas: Young Farmers & Ranchers, Women’s Leadership and Promotion & Engagement. Those who attend are farmers and ranchers involved in various types of production agriculture and representatives of diverse agribusinesses from across the country. The conference will be a learning opportunity for leaders to increase their knowledge and skills in the areas of leadership development, agriculture issues, professional and personal growth and building a network.
